Music Mentoring Project
Organised by: Swindon YOT
The aim of the project was to decrease the number of youth offences within Swindon and to provide activities for young people to take part in during the school holidays. The young people would also develop self confidence through the creative sessions and learn how to produce music using state of the art studio recording equipment.
‘Inner Sound’ was based at the Swindon Youth Offending team to encourage attendance and to teach young people how to produce backing tracks of their own choice and style, developing their voice for rapping but also involving numeracy, literacy and IT to improve key skills without the young people focusing on these emotive subjects.
