Re-imaging Crimebeat

Organised by: South Wilts Grammar School

AIM OF PROJECT

As part of the school's Year 9 Industry Day last year, a group of students were asked to look at Crimebeat's new strategy and develop an image which represented it.

Tracy Howell, Crimebeat co-ordinator, said: "The High Sheriff is keen to develop Crimebeat but agreed we needed to re-image it first. I told the girls we wanted a young, vibrant, in-your-face image and they came up with some great designs."

The five girls came up with three different designs for the bookmarks, contact cards and posters, which will now be sent to local schools across Wiltshire and Swindon.

They were a handprint, butterflies and headphones images, which they think will grab people's attention and appeal to both boys and girls.

Salisbury's resident crown court judge, Judge Keith Cutler and the High Sheriff of Wiltshire, Geraldine Wimble, congratulated the girls on their hard work.

Judge Cutler added: "It is encouraging to see young people taking such an interest in these things."
